System Integration Technologist/Engineer

Job Description:

  • Lead sourcing, validating and implementing electro-mechanical components in fuel cell power modules
  • Assist in development and design of fuel cell power module electrical and electronics schematics, P&ID diagrams, bills of material, technical specifications, etc.).
  • Bill of material management for electromechical sub-systems
  • Participate in new fuel cell power module design and developments, primarily related to electrical and electronic subsystems.
  • Assist in improvement / optimization of electrical and mechanical sub-systems for fuel cell power module lineup
  • Identify and implement electro-mechanical engineering changes for improved manufacturability, cost reduction, and improved quality for fuel cell power module family.
  • Troubleshoots fuel cell power modules (both prototype and production) for various applications and support technicians in control system prototype development, test and debugging.
  • Support design and development of custom electronics and subsystems for large fuel cell systems.
  • Monitors electrical compliance with both international standards (UL, CE) and customer requirements and assist in resolution of electrical issues which may surface throughout the product development cycle.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

  •   Minimum technologist diploma or university degree in electronics, mechatronics, electrical engineering technology, or equivalent.

Work Experience:

  •   Minimum 2-5 years experience in a rigorous and detail oriented environment.

Skills and attributes:

  • Experienced in “hands-on” development of electromechanical prototypes and products. Strong background in electrical systems (DC motors, motor controllers relay/switching systems, electrical wiring, low-high voltage systems).
  • Experience in working with power conversion, DC/DC converters, hybrid systems, ultra capacitors, and/or battery management systems are an asset.
  • Experience with electromechanical systems (pumps, process flow diagrams, sensors, data acquisition (flow, temperature, pressure) systems, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills combined with analytical skills.
