HyPORT E
HyPORT E is a 1-5 kW regenerative fuel cell power generator
that is suitable for auxiliary power applications. Its regenerative
feature essentially means the unit is self-fuelling as hydrogen
is produced through the electrolysis of water using an integrated
electrolyzer module. In the case of a vehicular installation, the
electrolyzer runs off the vehicle's alternator while the vehicle
is operating. As hydrogen is produced by the electrolyzer, it is
stored in the metal hydride hydrogen storage module until needed
by the fuel cell power module to produce electricity after the vehicle
is shut off. When the vehicle is started up to move to another location
the electrolyzer will start to produce hydrogen again to replenish
the hydrogen reserve.

FEATURES:
Modular design incorporates 3 components - electrolyzer module,
hydrogen storage module, fuel cell power module.
- Power output: 0-5 kW
- Run-time: up to 5 hours at an average load of 3 kW (standard)
- Modular packaged design
- Advanced H2X fuel cell and electrolyzer stack technology
- Low-pressure metal hydride hydrogen storage
- Quick start-up
- Simple and reliable electronics
- Consumes oxygen directly from air

BENEFITS:
Clean and Quiet: The HyPORT-E auxiliary power unit exhausts
only water or warm moist air that will not contaminate a closed
space. Air intake fans generate minimal noise.
Self-Fuelling: The HyPORT-E utilizes a regenerative system
design that generates its own hydrogen from water for later use
by the fuel cell power module.
Easy Operation: The HyPORT-E runs on fully automated controls.
Maintenance is minimal.
Long Runtime: The HyPORT-E can produce 15 kWh of energy
on a single full charge. The unit can be regenerated four times
before the water reservoir requires refilling.
Advantages over Batteries:
Lighter weight and smaller footprint for the same power and run
time
Excellent efficiency over a wide temperature range
No toxicity or recycling issues
Longer equipment lifetime
Advantages over Diesel Generators:
Clean
Quiet
Higher efficiency
Reduced maintenance requirements
No risk of site contamination from spills or leaks

APPLICATIONS:
Auxiliary powering of:
transit buses
long distance and refrigerated transport vehicles
military vehicles and communications modules
recreational vehicles
