HyUPS
HyUPS is a regenerative backup power generator developed
to meet critical power needs across multiple stationary power markets.
Its regenerative feature essentially means the unit is self-fuelling
because the unit is capable of producing its own hydrogen from water
by means of the integrated electrolyzer module. The electrolyzer
uses power from the electricity grid to produce hydrogen and then
stores it in a pressurized hydrogen storage tank until, in the event
of a power outage, it is required by the fuel cell power module
to run backup power. Once power from the grid is restored, the electrolyzer
recharges the hydrogen storage tank in preparation for the next
power outage. The standard design stores enough hydrogen to run
the fuel cell for up to 4 hours at full system load. If longer running
times are desired, the unit can be equipped with a larger hydrogen
storage module.

FEATURES:
Modular design incorporates 3 components - electrolyzer module,
hydrogen storage module, fuel cell power module.
- Power output: 0-25 kW
- Run-time: up to 4 hours at full system load (standard)
- Fully integated packaged design
- Advanced H2X fuel cell and electrolyzer stack technology
- High pressure (5000 psig) hydrogen storage tanks
- Quick start-up
- Simple and reliable electronics

BENEFITS:
Benefits vs. batteries:
lighter weight and smaller footprint for the same power and
run time
reduced operation and maintenance costs
excellent efficiency over a wide temperature range
no toxicity or recycling issues
longer equipment lifetime
energy, power and charge time are decoupled, allowing for
more system design flexibility
Benefits vs diesel:
"smart" diagnostics monitoring and networking capability
clean, no greenhouse gas emissions
only air and water exhaust
quiet
higher efficiency
reduced maintenance requirements
no diesel spills and cleanup costs
generates its own fuel in standby mode
no issues with regulatory bodies in regard to 'duration of
use' limitations

APPLICATIONS:
Critical Backup Power for:
telecommunications
database systems
commercial and institutional buildings
